Abhirup brings over a decade of experience in venture capital, strategic planning, and company-building. His work spans commerce, SME tech, manufacturing, logistics, mobility, and technology-driven marketplaces. He is passionate about backing founders who combine sharp customer intuition with a bias for disciplined execution in a market as diverse and fast-moving as India. Abhirup represents Prana on the boards of Revfin, DrinkPrime, IntrCity, Goodera, Masai and others, and previously led an investment in Pickrr (exited).

Before joining Prana, Abhirup was an Investment Principal at Omidyar Network India, where he led early stage investments across SME tech, logistics, manufacturing, and consumer marketplaces, and helped shape firm-wide portfolio support. Prior to ONI, he was part of Orios Venture Partners, working on investments in Country Delight, GoMechanic, and PharmEasy. He began his career in management consulting, advising on performance improvement and industrial strategy, then co-founded a sustainable nanotechnology venture before joining Housing.com’s corporate strategy team, where he also helped drive the company’s expansion into the Middle East.

Abhirup is a chronic researcher, the type who compares 17 flight routes, 12 hotel options, and 4 YouTube channels before locking in even a short work trip. He is usually found planning travel to new places, re-reading tabs he meant to close, or defending why valuation multiples make perfectly sound dinner table conversations.
