Tanmay is a lawyer by training and has spent two decades as a corporate lawyer, most of it as in-house counsel in the venture capital industry. He likes being a problem solver, who believes in gathering a deep understanding of the rules at play and then working with stakeholders to find solutions. At Prana, he plays a dual role as the head of the legal function and also as investment lead managing the likes of CloudSEK and CENTA. 

An alumnus of National Law School, Bangalore, Tanmay began his career at Luthra & Luthra Law, where he worked on regulatory issues and mergers & acquisitions. He then moved to Sequoia Capital India as legal counsel for structuring, diligence, documentation and closing investments, as well as helping portfolio companies on legal issues. Thereafter, Tanmay moved to Omidyar Network India and led the legal function for over eight years, advising the firm on multiple transactions and all legal/ contractual/ regulatory / tax matters. 

Tanmay enjoys reading fiction, particularly the crime genre set in different countries and timelines. He also enjoys playing squash and running, and follows a host of sports. He loves trying out different culinary experiences and travelling.
