Badri is a Director at PV Investment Advisors (PVIA), an emerging markets focussed early stage impact advisory firm that assists investment managers in fund-raising, research & strategy, investment sourcing, portfolio management and exits. He is passionate about technology for good and loves working with mission-aligned founders who are solving deep, structural problems for underserved populations. Over the last 15+ years, he has been investing in early-stage startups in financial services, education, healthcare, climate, MSME (including e-commerce) in India and South-East Asia and is a consultant to Prana Venture Management.
Prior to PVIA, Badri was a Partner at Omidyar Network India (ONI), where he led investments in the likes of VerSe (Dailyhunt/Josh), Healthkart (sold to Temasek & A91), Vistaar Finance (sold to Warburg), Pickrr (sold to Shiprocket) and Aspiring Minds (sold to SHL). Badri also led the portfolio support and exit functions at ONI, helping investee companies raise capital, hire talent, establish corporate governance, and enabling $200m+ of distributions over 2019-2022.
Badri was previously a Vice President (Investment & Fund Operations) at Xander Advisors, India’s leading real estate private equity firm, and a Manager at EXL Service’s financial risk management division. He is a Chartered Accountant, B. Com graduate, and an MBA from the Indian School of Business (ISB).
On weekends, you may find him on a cricket field in Singapore representing Falcons, a club he co-founded in 2013, or learning about the latest on AI and digital advertising from his tech-savvy wife, or making a mess in the kitchen with his sons. An avid learner, he is secretly proud of the ‘Bhishma Pitamah’, ‘Knowledge Champion’, and ‘Best Guru Ever’ tags from his former colleagues, while pretending to be young and cool.
